Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Tracks and descriptions -- please review

Hi

I'd like a more "indirect" approach for some of the themes, see below for examples

Hi all -- here's what I've written. Please post your feedback!

I need some help with the description for Eclipse Technology since I'm not sure which projects or technologies to feature. Ian may have certain topics he wants included her as well. Thanks.

  • Building Industry Solutions
Eclipse has proven to be a powerful platform for building flexible and extensible applications. Many organizations are building platforms that address the needs of a specific industry, like banking, insurance, automotive, aerospace and others. This track will feature case studies that explore the technology, architecture, and policies required to build industry solutions.
  • Eclipse Technology
This is the track for technical content relevant to projects hosted at the Eclipse Foundation such as Mylyn, Orion, Hudson, EGit, etc., and associated technologies, such as modeling, runtime, application lifecycle management, embedded, etc. New tools and techniques and state-of-the-nation talks would also fit here.

Eclipse is a host for a lot of great technology  such as Mylyn, Orion, Hudson, EGit, etc., and associated technologies, such as modeling, runtime, application lifecycle management, embedded, etc.  New tools and techniques and state-of-the-nation talks would also be found here.

  • Community and Collaboration
This theme includes talks about how we function as a community, such as industry collaboration, the Eclipse development process, and our stewardship of Eclipse as a platform, a community, and a Foundation. Introspective topics and "future Eclipse" discussions belong here.

How do we function as a community, especially in industry collaboration? What is important about the Eclipse development process and our stewardship of Eclipse as a platform. What will the future bring for Eclipse?

  • Other
Not everything will fit easily into one of these themes. If you have a topic that you think is interesting, propose it! The program committee is always looking for great speakers and great technical content, so let us know your thoughts.
