[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] EclipseCon Audition Winner(s) Doodle Poll

Thanks to everyone who judged the EclipseCon Auditions yesterday (you
can watch them now too):
   http://live.eclipse.org/node/989

I've attached some logs of our chat during the presentations...

I've also created a Doodle Poll that you can cast two votes:
   http://doodle.com/nqbu3kypsd83x947

I would like to decide on a winner in a few hours if possible.

I voted for two presentations that come from newcomers... my favorite
is from Anthony because he's a good speaker and his content is
technical and relevant to EclipseCon attendees who work in the
"trenches"

Anyways, see you guys in about 20 minutes on the call.

Title: /nJedoICAk6
1 - jonas #1 EMF
 - is this stuff being used in practice?

2- jonas helming talk #2 One click EMF
    - One click EMF - presentation not so impressive imho. (ditto) (agree) agree

3 - Bernhard - OS Erosion
    - Like the title
Bernie M has done an early version of this talk @ ESE 2009. Was a good one, very interesting.
I would be happier if he had new content compared to ESE 2009. Liked that talk, but is there anything new?

4 - Martin J18n
internationalization is a necessity but not always the most entertaining thing to watch
not sure how relevant this is to practitioners

5 - Tristian, GenDocs  WYWIWYG
Someone just did their slides this morning.
Appeals to the modeling crowd
slides are a mess, looks even worse than SliTeX or whatever it was called
Really just not enough care has been put into these slides.

6 - Frank Rimlinger
 - It's novel.
+ 1 being from the NSA
 -1 for being very wordy
0 for being an "academic" type session
I kinda like this one.  -> In my mind, it's the kind of talk we were hoping to pick because it's new / novel and without the Auditions we might not have every seriously considered.
Presentation content is well, too much on the words.
 +1 agree with Don.
+1 if he can produce useful slides

 7. Ekke Gentz
+1 good speaker (Yah, but presentation design dreadful)
+1 he entertained me, and had a message he wants to convey

 8. Arun Gupta - Something EE and Glassfish tutorial, and I think that's ll that needs to be said.
Never a fan of JEE but there's a community out there for it I agree
Of course, but this is more tutorial material, maybe?  That's what he said, he's proposing this as a tutorial.
Bored me as well

9 - Anthony, High performance tab bindings, Cargill  (cool)
+1 new end user of Eclipse stuff!
this is a big topic for banks; every bank using RCP has this problem but there are solutions
I like this, but don't listen to me, I came up with the weird data binding API ;-)
+1 as well. Like this kind of stuff.
IT could be a good example to draw in more end user experience submissions too.yup
he was also a good speaker +1

10 - Karim, something OSGi. JasForge
Woah! Slide from text hell.
Could be interesting to the OSGi researcher crowd

Advice for EclipseCon speakers from Audition Session
 - Slides shouldn't be wordy
 - Titles are very important, they set the tone and expectations in an instant
 - Zen style isn't for everyone, your slides are 0 value on web
 - Watch your speaking speed, especially if your audience has a different accent than you
