[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Keynote suggestions

Hi all,

[from Bryan Hunt's mail, forwarded by Chris]
Jeff Norris' keynote was amazing.  I challenge you to equal that
keynote.  The Oracle and Microsoft keynotes were a waste of time.
Please, no roadmap keynotes.  I think a keynote should inspire us to
take Eclipse / our products to the next level.

given the feedback Bryan sent (and I guess many other attendees feel the same about most of the points Bryan made), I'd like to suggest we pick keynotes from fields that only remotely have to do with software engineering.

Here are some ideas for starters:

Jessa Gamble: How to sleep: http://www.ted.com/talks/jessa_gamble_how_to_sleep.html - given we work too long, suffer from jet lag and have to work with people in other time zones, why not learn something about our natural sleep cycle?

Steven Johnson: Where good ideas come from: http://www.ted.com/talks/steven_johnson_where_good_ideas_come_from.html - a really great one on how openness and sharing sparks new ideas in unknown and unpredicted ways. Make sure to watch it completely, it's really worthwhile.

Or, for something completely different, Jamie Oliver: http://www.ted.com/talks/jamie_oliver.html
