We don't want to do this until the Hyatt is sold out -- it's very
important for a number of reasons for us to fill up the hotel. This is
different from previous years, when we contracted with multiple hotels
and a room at any of them help us fulfill our contract. This year we
are only contracted with the Hyatt.
I'm thinking that if someone really needs to have a room for less than
$199, they'll figure out how to find one in the area via the plethora
of travel websites. I don't think they'll find much that's
significantly cheaper and close to the Hyatt, but if they are willing
to commute to Santa Clara each morning, they might be able to save
some $$.
