Today is the deadline for submissions. We’re
already at 322, and looks like 400 might be doable (350 for sure).
SCOTT – Correct me if I’m wrong, but we were at about 350 at the
deadline last year? This bodes VERY well. I’m
pumped to have hit 300.
As for the inevitable late submissions that will come in…
Just throwing this out as a suggestion:
-
We leave the submission system open over the weekend,
and not really punish submission that come in on the weekend (except maybe to
break ties if it’s a close call).
-
We close down the links to the submission systems from
the eclipsecon website on Monday AM with a “Submissions closed, Register
now as an Attendee”, but leave the system open for deep links that find
it (i.e, from old emails – or us, the PC). Any late submissions
that come in will be met with a “You’re late, so we are not going
to give this same weight” policy. But, for a super-awesome talk, the
PC could decide to allow them in.
-
Any talks that come in after Christmas are definite “NO”
without some sort of act-of-oisin and PC godlike maneuver, and it had better
come with lasers and free turkeys for all.
