RE: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Internet charges atHyatt

There was a *wired* internet option through the hotel at $12.95/day that offered a higher bandwidth (500k/s).  The wired internet also had a 50k/s option at $9.99.

The wireless was $9.99/day through tmobile.

Not sure how you could have been dinged for wired internet (or wireless) unless you expressly went through the billing process for it.

I hear you.  I thought DNR stood for "DiNneR", but perhaps it really meant "Do Not Resuscitate".

Hyatt has fixed the problem since I sent the first email. Their accountants are obviously more prompt than their barmen.

An early April fool from the Hyatt?

I was correctly charged $9.99 a day.

Now all these LOBBY BAR - DNR items...

Subject: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Internet charges at Hyatt

Hello all,

Great show. I'm still clearing out action items from last week.

Did anyone else get charged for Internet access on their Hyatt bill? On Monday the 23rd, they billed me for 5 days internet usage at $12.95 per day. Given that I was using either the conference wireless or my tethered 3G phone, I had no need for their internet access. Plus, since I checked in on 3/22, how can they make any assumptions about what I will or won't use on 3/23?  I woke at 3:45 a.m. on Friday to leave for the airport to catch a 6:10 a.m. flight, so I wasn't thinking too clearly when I left the hotel at 4:15 a.m.  Now that I'm doing my expense report, I see they stuck $64.75 on my account that I didn't approve of or use.  I'm now trying to get their accounting department to reverse the charges.

Check your statements carefully if you stayed at the Hyatt.  If this turns out to be more widespread than just my experience, we may need to raise our voices with the hotel manager.
