All,
Next time you go into the submission system you will see a new button
on the home page:

This is the way that we will be combining short
talks into a full hour of talks.
When you use this, you will create a new Long Talk with its own Title,
Abstract, Category and Description. From there you will be able to
select individual talks to make up the full session. The functionality
seems to be pretty close, but I have opened a bug to
track a couple of refinements that I would like to see. If you see
any other issues, please at to that bug.
At this point, the only people that have the ability to create short
talks are the Program Committee. Yes this means we have one more task
to do. When you have your short talks bundled into what you feel are
appropriate groups, you will need to create a talk and add the
submissions.
One note, you should focus on trying to come up with a catchy title and
a succinct abstract. The top level of the program will only show the
Title of the curated talk, so it will be up to you all to sell the
short talks.
I would like to have the short talks curated by Wednesday next week.
My hope is to have this done so that when the big button is pushed, the
short talks will be able to see who they will be presenting with. I
will send another reminder out at the end of the week, once the
interface has been finalized.
Let me know if you have any questions.
