PC members,
I've always wanted to get one of those slashdot "first post"
(http://slashdot.org/faq/com-mod.shtml#cm400), but not having enough
free time, I'll have to settle for the second best of being the first
program committee member to have a preliminary list of accepts for the
ET category:
Emerging Technology (allocation: 20 short, 3 long, 1
main stage, 2 tutorial)
Short (20 allocated, 16 submitted + 4 force shortened, 15 tentative
accepted, 2 maybes)
https://www.eclipsecon.org/submissions/2009/search.php?search=category+%3D+%22Eclipse+Ecosystem+-+Emerging+Technology%22+order+by+type+and+type~%22short%22
There is 1 that I will reject, and 2 where the author also submitted a
tutorial and we're only going to take one of their submissions on that
topic, and 3 on Eclipse and Maven and I don't think we need three on
that topic. That leaves us with 10 that I've marked as (voted as)
tentative accept.
Long (3 allocated, 1 main stage allocated, 16 submitted, 3+1
tentative accepts, 1 unsure)
https://www.eclipsecon.org/submissions/2009/search.php?search=category+%3D+%22Eclipse+Ecosystem+-+Emerging+Technology%22+order+by+type+and+type~%22long%22
I forced-shorted 4 talks, 2 on Eclipse and Maven, 1 that is sort of
"interesting" and 1 that is still on the bubble for being
force-shortened, 4 that I will reject, and that leaves 3 tentative
accepts and 1 main stage.
Tutorials (2 allocated, 3 submitted, 2 tentative accepts)
https://www.eclipsecon.org/submissions/2009/search.php?search=category+%3D+%22Eclipse+Ecosystem+-+Emerging+Technology%22+order+by+type+and+type~%22tutorial%22
I'm not totally wild about any of the submissions, but two are
definitely better than the third, so I marked two tentative accepts. I
could be convinced to give up a slot if there was something out there
that was much better.
Of course all of my tentatives are just that, tentative. Happy to
listen to lots of advice from you all...
