Program Committee Members,
Thanks in advance for all your reading, reviewing, and filtering
through the hundreds and hundreds of submissions that are pouring in
for EclipseCon. My email inbox has been beeping constantly for the last
few days and I'm sure yours has too - wow!
As you know, one of my jobs at the Foundation is to be the "heavy" and
in that vein, I am writing to remind you of the "no play, no pay"
policy: you know, the one where if (a) you don't attend the Program
Committee conference calls or (b) you don't get your accept/decline
decisions made by December 15th, then you don't get your free pass
to EclipseCon... It's very important that we get the program set by the
middle of December, both for the presenters and for the attendees: the
presenters deserve prompt answers and the attendees need a program
before they can convince their management to let them attend.
It's really important that we all attend the conference calls (I was
absent today due to a fever, so I'm one of the guilty non-participants)
so that we can create a cohesive conference program and not just a
dozen disparate mini-conferences. Yes, Donald, Jason, Andrew, Ted,
Chris, Ed, and Oisin, this comment is aimed at you... The next three
conference calls are the most crucial: please make sure they are on
your calendar and you're dialed in to the scintillating conversation.
Thanks!
So, thanks in advance for all your work over the next couple weeks - I
know there is a lot of reading, evaluating, and decision making to be
done in a short period of time.
Regards,
Bjorn
P.S.
