All,
Thanks for the input.
- Peter, I hear you, I hate to extend, but it doesn't seem fair to
those that were unable to enter things over the weekend (when the
system was down).
- Kevin, damn you for being the voice of reason, but you are correct
we should just announce the decision and get it over with.
We are going to go ahead and extend through Friday
November 28 at 5 pm PST.
Bjorn has updated the web site and posted to the EclipseCon blog. I
have sent an announcement to the general Eclipse announcements mailing
list.
We have an important call tomorrow and have the following topics to
cover:
- Review process
that we will be using to select the talks
- Discuss how the short talks process, once
that portion of the code is done.
- Review Main Stage presentations. If you have
an allocation for a Main Stage presentation please be prepared to share
your progress finding a talk.
- Discuss the submissions to date, and discuss
what types of guidance we should be providing to the potential
presenters as we start to review our submissions this week.
- Yes, we are extending the dates for
submissions, but we still need to do our jobs and review the content
that has come in so far.
- Please provide feedback through comments
- Are the title/abstract readable?
- Is the bio information in the system?
- Is the category correct?
- If it is a tutorial are their specific
examples of the hands on exercises
- Is the difficulty appropriate? (need more
hard and expert talks)
- Is the type appropriate? (need more short
- 10 minute talks)
Please make sure that you can attend tomorrow at 9
CT.
Scott
Here are the numbers as of last night. Since this dump of the DB we
have had close to 100 new submissions, I will have new numbers posted
in the morning.
