Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Question about recording sessions

'3' ... just off top of my head (I am not very experienced in this area) ... and I think not '4' I doubt I'd bother listening and following a long, as an end-user.

Subject: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Question about recording        sessions

Program Committee People,
I'd like your input and advice on recording EclipseCon sessions for later webcast/podcast. There are four options listed here in order of decreasing cost (or, should I say, in order to increasing number of sessions that can be recorded) (estimated number of talks we can afford to do this way in parentheses):

1.        Camera recording the speaker on stage synced with an XGA recording of the presenters screen. The end result is a side-by-side person and presentation. (2)
2.        Camera recording the speaker on stage (and audio, of course). The end result would be something like the TED Talks but of course not nearly so polished as TED. (6)
3.        An XGA recording of the presenters screen, but not the presenter at all. The end result would be something like a screencast. (24)
4.        Recording the audio only, no visuals. The end result would be podcasts. (~100)
Obviously, a perfect world would have option 1 for all EclipseCon talks. However, given the cost of cameras, post production, etc., that's not going to happen. So, as the program committee, would you like to see many fewer recorded sessions with a video of the presenter or many more with just the slides/screen or even more than that just as podcasts ?
