RE: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] PPT template

I understand that this is not prefect but there are some cronic problems with the Eclipse templates that many people seem to be experiencing.  For my part I cut and paste between lots of different templates and presenations and generally do not experience the level of difficulty I have with the Eclipse template-based presentations.  There seem to be some issues with default colors and font sizes in particular.

My suggestion is that we start from scratch and create new templates trying to do as little change as possible to the master slides.  Seems like Donald and Anne are on this already.  This will be great to see.

Jeff,

FWIW, I’ve had this problem when copying from just about any template to another one.  The problem is in the Master Slide, which determines all of the formatting for the different slide types.  Anyway, I doubt there’s much the Eclipse folks can do, other than not changing the Master Slide from previous templates.  Then at least cut and paste between Eclipse presentations will work.

Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] PPT template

Speaking of power point templates, we should try to do something about the template we put out.  Pretty much everyone I know has difficulty with the typcial Eclipse templates.  They seem to do strange things with the font sizes and the color schemes.  Pasting in content from other talks (or copying stuff from an EclipseCon talk) requires significant fixup and review time to ensure that things were not messed up.  This experience appears to be unique to the Eclipse templates.

So, concretely, I suggest that we start from a plan, empty PPT file and create completely new templates.  I'm more than happy to test them out and provide feedback.
