We have two hour tutorials this year because the attendees asked us to
have shorter tutorials. Thus having a six hour tutorial (e.g.
https://eclipsecon.greenmeetingsystems.com/submissions/view/47,
https://eclipsecon.greenmeetingsystems.com/submissions/view/48,
https://eclipsecon.greenmeetingsystems.com/submissions/view/49) is
really not the right thing to do.
I understand that there is a lot of content to cover, but it should be
broken into three separate tutorials: not just three with the
same name and abstract. And the three should be independent - in the
sense that one would be for beginners, one for intermediate, and one
ofor advanced (for example).
I really think is is a mistake.
I also think all the "part 1/part 2" tutorials are a mistake - the
presenters are going to be unhappy and the attendees are going to be
unhappy when people wander out of part 1 and in to part 2 without
attending the other part. The conference is not structured to guarantee
or even require attendance at both parts. That means that the
presenters are going to need to write separate tutorials anyway, so the
titles should be separate as well.
My opinion,
Bjorn
