Hi folks,
I spoke with Bjorn.
-
Comments: The developers found the
problem. Emails were queued, but the cron job had stopped. Brace
yourself for a flurry of emails.
-
Keywords: if you see a keyword that isn’t
turning off, note the time and the submission number and email this list.
Bjorn will look at the logs to see what’s going on.
-
Acceptance Process: There is a “transaction
button” that takes selections from the “TS” column and
changes the status in the “Sts” column – emailing the
submitter of their status. That button will be pressed on Dec 10.
It will be pressed again at a later time TBD to accept additional talks as
necessary. I will communicate additional transaction dates explicitly.
-
Making more space and “bubble”:
Bjorn and I discussed the possibility of expanding the space at the conference
by adding one or more parallel rooms given the overwhelming response. The
“bubble” keyword will be helpful to identify how many extra talks
we’d like to have. However, please use good judgment. There
should still be several declines and long to short talk conversions.
There is no guarantee of increased space.
-
Wait listed talks: By next Friday, we
should have allocated all available Long and Tutorial slots. Anything
still on the bubble will be wait-listed—to be used if we can get more
space or if there’s a cancellation. Wait listed talks will be
notified no later than Feb 14 of their status.
Agenda for next meeting:
-
Review usage vs. allocation stats
-
Discuss panels
-
Discuss bubbles and mark those that will use extra
allocation slots
-
Reiterate the acceptance mechanics
Please get submissions marked with A/D/Bubble/Panel by
Thursday Dec 6.
