RE: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Keynote: Bob Sutton - No Assholes
|
This looks interesting to me personally. I think the abstract/title would
appeal to people. The deliver seemed a bit dry on 50 lessons, but that
could just be the medium

Subject: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Keynote: Bob Sutton - No
Assholes
All,
I mentioned that one person who might be interesting for a keynote is Bob
Sutton. Bob Sutton is a Stanford professor who wrote a best selling book
named "The No Asshole Rule". He blogs at: http://bobsutton.typepad.com/.
I contact him through email and he said he would be interested in speaking
at EclipseCon. His agent for speaking engagements provides a couple of
samples on their web site.
A short interview clip where he describes his basic position is available
here:
http://www.50lessons.com/viewlesson.asp?l=392
Another clip shows Bob presenting to a group:

Why would anyone at EclipseCon be interested in hearing from Bob Sutton? As
you may have guessed, The No Asshole Rule looks at the effect of abrasive,
obnoxious people (assholes) in the work place. I have found the Eclipse
community to be remarkably "asshole free", but I think it would be
interesting to hear from someone who has studied this phenomenon.
Have a look,
Scott Rosenbaum
