RE: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Re: Short Talks andDemos...

Title: Re: Short Talks and Demos...

Mobile and Embedded short talks are accepted.  I need to meet with the PMC on Thursday (Feb 8) to resolve the demos, as we have too many submissions.

I would like to get 5 of these scheduled in the same short talk session as possible, since they are all related.  One will have to fall out into another session.

Importance: High

Hi again,

Bjorn and I will be accepting/declining/scheduling all talks on the 11th, so be sure to get all your decisions in by the advertised date of the 10th (sooner is better, if you’d like your talks to have better time slots, as I’m now scheduling as they come in).  It’s important to not leave our speakers hanging and afford them adequate time to arrange for their registration/travel to the conference.

Also, note that demos are being given a full hour (well, 50 minutes), just as long talks as we have the space.

Thanks for your participation on this year’s EclipseCon Program Committee!  I look forward to seeing you all at the conference.

Best Regards,
Rich

Hi,

As we’re approaching the end of January and the official deadline for Short Talk and Demo submissions, I’d like to ask you to all start approving/declining these as soon as you can.  There are (at least) 2 good reasons:

  1. It will help those who need to make registration/travel plans based on their acceptance of a talk.  This also gives us more accurate information regarding this year’s expected attendance.
  2. It will help me to begin the process of scheduling the short talks (hopefully, I’ll do better than I did for Long Talks).

Thanks for your support,
Rich
