Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] slots in flux

Title: Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] slots in flux
Thanks, Jeff.

If the Java track accepts the shortened Debug tutorial (3701), they will be set.

In Fundamentals, I’m fine with keeping the top 3 listed below (they all have majority votes).

With Legos moving to a long talk, and with the Maven track from the Java track being preferred, we can accept the DITA talk in Mashup, leaving us with 2 extra allocations.

It seems we agreed the server side Eclipse tutorial (3607) is desirable, so it takes one, if no one objects.

So if my math is correct, we’re down to one leftover and a number of options, including Jeff’s list below and Tim’s request from Web Development.  And for some reason, I feel Bjorn may have another last minute recommendation :)

Best,
Rich

Below is a summary of various tracks that seem to be in flux.  Some tracks have extra while others not enough.  So given this, I propose slot reallocation as follows (details below):
Mashup 1 => OSGi
Mashup 1 => Fundamentals
Java 1 => Java, RCP, ????  (we can debate the merits of the various remaining proposals)

Jeff

Fundamentals +1
Long
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3635        PDE Build and build clinic
        - combine this one with Gunnar's (http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3583).
        - I believe Pascal has talked to Gunnar about joining forces but not sure if actual arrangements have been made.
Short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3626        Eclipse APIs and Java 5
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3645        Fundamentals of Eclipse Plug-in Development

Additional short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3674        Building Commercial-Quality Eclipse Plug-Ins
       - I have had some interaction with Eric and Dan. They are willing to cut down to a short tutorial.

RCP +1
Long
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3667        Developing Eclipse Rich-Client Applications

Short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3585        RCP Development Using the Workbench and JFace
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3655        Intro Framework: Making a Good First Impression
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3664        UI Forms: I can't believe it's not browser

Additional short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3648        Creating Enterprise Business Applications Using Eclipse RCP
        - not sure why this has no votes...
        - might make a good long talk?

OSGi +1
Long
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3630        SOBA

Short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3632        Spring

Additional short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3607        Server side
        - this is hot imho

Java -1
Short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3639        Maven
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3582        SpoonJDT
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3618         Annotations
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3693        JDT fundamentals
One extra in this track but there is a late breaking debug submission...

Mashups -2
Short
http://eclipsezilla.eclipsecon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3672        DITA

Two extra here if we recast the Lego submission as a long talk (which I think is reasonable btw)
