Summarizing emails from this
morning, especially from those who can’t make the call (see below). I also
received a request from Selena to allow a talk on ALF and we can discuss that
as well.
Short
List:
- 185 – RCP/OSGI talk
by Jeff
- 77 –
John Kaplan’s talk on
contribution experience
- 21 – VE tutorial we
declined (reconstituted as a long talk)
- 330 – Automotive
vertical / EMF experience talk
- 40 – TPTP
“Probekit” talk
Gunnar: My votes go to 185, 77, 21
and 330. I think these will be good additional talks with useful information
for the community.
Ed:
1. http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=77
77 - John Kaplan's talk on contribution experience
Reason: Submission 79 was
Combined at my request with this submission so both John Kaplan and Gunnar Wagenknecht (Philippe
Ombredanne) will be presenting. Contributions by people like them should be
strongly encouraged, and it should be a fun
presentation.
2. http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=305
305 - Lessons from the
trenches: Developing integrated help sets and information centers for
large-scale projects
(Submission 187 should be
combined with this submission)
Reason: The presenters
have been very accomodating to my questions and have agreed to work
together.
Note: I know this wasn't
on the short list but I think it should have been. (Note from Tim: Also a
highly (hopefully non-rigged) voted submission.)
3. http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=185
185 - RCP/OSGI talk by
Jeff McAffer
Reason: Jeff is a great
speaker and OSGi needs to be well covered at the conference. See also
submissions 56, 176, 366.
4. http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21
21 - VE tutorial we
declined (reconstituted as a long talk)
Reason: Presenters are
enthusiastic about it, and Visual Editing is one of those things that can
touch many users and extenders of Eclipse.
