I'm sorry I won't be able to attend our todays talk. I have a few things
that I can't reschedule this evening. I'm sorry for that.
Here is a list of tutorials I would like to see accepted (based on my
votes in Eclipsezilla ;) ). I limited to a few because some were already
accepted last time :)
In general, all tutorials are somewhat related to Eclipse Platform
development because I feel we don't have enough currently. I also think
that they are very useful if you want to develop high quality Eclipse
based applications (RCP or IDEs) and care about a clean and correct way
of how to develop such things.
Short list:
92, 94, 95, 111, 125
Detailed list:
_Foundations of UI Development with Eclipse_
http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=94
I think this is an important tutorial especially for new developers. IMO
it is a must have. It explains the basics that you need to understand
before ever start developing Eclipse applications (RCP or IDE extensions).
_Advanced UI Development with Eclipse_
http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=95
This tutorial is an extension to the Foundation tutorial and targeted at
more experienced developers. There is always something to learn even for
the nerds ;)
_At Your Command: Migrating from Actions to Commands_
http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=92
IMO this is a very important topic and causing me much headache when
developing plug-ins with actions and contributions. A tutorial would
definitely be worthwhile to attend.
_Tutorial: Text Editor Recipes_
http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=111
A very important tutorial if you want to start coding text editors. I
think there is a great interest in developing text editors without the
SSE concept. I also don't think that this overlaps with the SSE
tutorial. IMHO we can have both.
_Java Tool Smithing - Extending the Eclipse Java Development Tools_
http://canuck.gda.itesm.mx/eclipsezilla/show_bug.cgi?id=125
This is a must-have tutorial if you want to know how the start extending
the JDT. Especially the hands-on parts look promising.
Cu, Gunnar
