Ed,
Thanks for the question. Last year (and this year) the pricing
philosophy was/is:
- Committers are Members
- Members get a discount off the full registration price
- Hence Committers get a discount off the full price
- We wanted to give something a little more to Committers,
especially since they might have trouble arguing with their management
to send them, so we extended the maximum discount for Committers longer
than for just plain Members.
- Speakers and Tutorial Presenters get a free registration - the
policy is listed here (http://www.eclipsecon.org/2006/Policies.do).
I thought it was on the Registration page as well, but it's not - sorry
about that - I'll fix it straight away.
I was just looking at:
http://www.eclipsecon.org/2006/Registration.do
The prices for Committer and Member are exactly the same except for Early Conference and Passport. Shouldn't there be more of a discount for Committer?
Also, Bjorn and I talked at one point about discounts for speakers, tutorial presenters, etc.. Whatever happened with that? The web site doesn't mention it at all. Discounts could increase participation.
