[eclipse.org-committers] Celebrating GitHub Maintainer Month with Cyber Resilience Act Panel

Hi all,

As part of Maintainer Month, the Eclipse Foundation’s Open Regulatory Compliance (ORC) working group is partnering with GitHub to host a virtual panel that will help open source maintainers understand how upcoming EU regulations might impact their work.

🕒 27 May 2025, 6 pm CET / 9 am PDT
📍 Virtual (livestreamed by GitHub)
🗓️  Add to your calendar

The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) introduces new regulatory requirements for digital products, including software. If you lead or contribute to an open source project, you may be wondering if—or how—this affects you. This panel will provide practical guidance to help you determine your responsibilities and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape.

Topics we’ll cover include:

  • Does the CRA apply to my open source project?

  • What’s the difference between a "manufacturer," "steward," and contributor?

  • How do sponsorships or donations impact obligations?

  • What minimal requirements apply to stewards?

  • How should maintainers respond to compliance requests?

Whether you’ve been tracking the CRA or are just beginning to explore its impact, this webinar will offer valuable insights and actionable advice. We hope you will join us.
