This risk is mitigate by the DCO and ECA.

In addition, Type B projects will receive full IP due diligence. This will do additional provenance checks as well as scanning the code for potentially copied stuff.

General rule:
If in doubt -> open a CQ (if not already required by contribution size) and get the IP team involved.
