Sorry, you're right, it is a regression.
We will have to do another build for RC4 in order to regenerate the Javadoc
on the latest code. I'll talk to Tom whether he can merge the fix for RC4.

Sure, it is not a stop ship for the Platform. It only affect a limited
number of adopters.

The the fix for bug bug 482765  is simple and safe. It is already merged
for Oxygen M2. I'd like to request downporting it for Neon.1.
The NullPointerException affects adopters like us who have the TextSearchControl
used in a customer editor. This problem is visible to users when restarting
the IDE having this custom editor opened. After the restart, the editor
is completely broken.
