for me. I tried in Firefox and Chrome and tried when logged in and logged
Adding "New & Noteworthy below"
does not work because that same overview is also displayed on other pages
where there's no review material and hence no N&N. I've added the Customize
Perspective item to the Usability section. Note that Import/Export is still
not working in 4.5.
The API section is not an editable section.
It's just a checkbox. We always had the API additions/removals in that
section, like we also mention new bundles there.
Currently the document represents what
will be in 4.5. It's on my list to use the 'R4_5' tag once we've done with
the release. BTW I have to do the same needs to be done for the N&N.
I've added "Planned " to the
I've marked it as being in maintenance
Mars (4.5) Release Review Material
Great work – very informational
while not too verbose, and well structured. I like it a lot, thanks to
the author(s) for great work, +1 approved !
the overview, you mention “performance and stability” though later on
you also mention “usability” as a theme. To me, bringing back Perspective
Customization/Export/Import in Mars is a significant achievement in the
Usability sector so I think it would make sense exposing that a bit more
isn’t even mentioned
in the N&N or the Plan at the moment ?!?
make sense wording the overview “For more details, see the Mars Plan and
the New & Noteworthy below.”
Issues section: “More APIs have been released” in this context sounds
like it’s a problem or a bad thing ? But likely wasn’t meant that way.
Perhaps move the “More APIs” sentence under the “API Certification”
Aspects section: “Open accessibility
bugs” would be good if
hyperlinked to a bugzilla query
section: “Eclipse User Interface
Guidelines” should be
a clickable hyperlink
of Life section: The “deprecated API removals” hyperlink points to cgit
master, would it make sense pointing to a tag or branch instead for 4.5
the documented, consider changing the headline “API removals after June
2015” to “Planned API removals after June 2015”
Since people may read this document at a later time, it should be clear
what has been done versus what was planned
– would it make sense to talk about the situation in “PDE Build” versus
Maven / Tycho, in the “Architectural Issues” section ? – There is some
confusion around these two in the wider Plugin Developers Community I think
(“Is PDE Build deprecated? Is it still supported ? Do I have to switch
to Tycho?”) .
