FYI, I am planning to move up all components of Equinox that use jsr14 flag to BREE 1.5 in Kepler also. [1] My feeling is that there is absolutely no testing being done on Java SE 1.4 and we cannot possibly have a high level of confidence that our bundles still work on 1.4.

It has been impossible to use PDE on 1.4 for a couple of years already.

    PDE would like to move the minimum execution environment of the following bundles from 1.4 to 1.5.

    org.eclipse.pde.core
    org.eclipse.pde.ui

    Doing so will make it easier to accept contributions and allow us to use generified APIs from p2.
