There's a discussion going on in bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=248986, re whether we should upgrade Lucene from version 1.9.1 to 2.4.

There are both positive and negative arguments made in the bug. I am currently mildly in favor of upgrading, based on the argument that there are consumers who would like us to, but there seems to be at least a space performance cost, so we should be in agreement before proceeding.

Please check the bug and make comments there.
