Greetings mirror maintainers worldwide,
I've been remiss in thanking all the
organisations that generously donate time, compute power,
storage and bandwidth to mirror Eclipse Foundation OSS projects.
Without you, our communities could not obtain their bits in such
a convenient, efficient and timely fashion.
We recognise that the storage
requirements to mirror Eclipse projects are quite large; we are
home to over 425 OSS projects. We work with them regularly to
make sure the mirrored footprint is as small as possible. We
have a non-mirrored site, archive.eclipse.org, that our projects
can use to move historical releases that no longer need
widespread mirroring.
In addition to that, we use GeoIP to
send users to mirror sites in close proximity to them, to keep
the bits as local as possible and keep the pipes clean.
Once again, thank you for everything,
and a particular thank you to our friends at the OSU OSL for
acting as our rsync hub for well over a decade now, and to those
mirror sites that have been with us for 20+ years.
