RE: [eclipse-mirrors] Mirroring callisto

Rsync may well end my problems w.r.t. callisto, but I do need a way of
mirroring external sites that works for *any* site. Some sites (e.g.
checkstyle) can only be mirrored using the standalone updater since they
are not located in one directory. The updater reads the site and feature
descriptors in order to 'put humpty together'.
Does anyone know if there is an alternative to the standalone updater,
e.g. something like IBM's RPU, that I could use in a similar way and
that would cope with fragmented update sites?

I'll chime in to support Simon's suggestion to use anonymous RSYNC.
iBiblio and OSU OSL (rsync://rsync.osuosl.org::eclipse) are both
excellent choices from which you can run anonymous RSYNCs, if your IT
team allows outgoing RSYNC connections.
As soon as you switch to RSYNC, your problems will end (well, they
should ;)
