Re: [eclipse-mirrors] Mirroring callisto

Ladies and Gentlemen of Eclipse,
I am continuing to have a *monumentally* difficult time setting up a
callisto mirror for my company. Can someone please advise?
First, let me summarize our constraints and what I have already tried.
Rsync:
-------
We *cannot* use rsync since corporate IT security *insists* that all
such interactions with external sites are anonymous (from the p.o.v. of
ip addresses). It is not even possible for us to provide a single
ipaddress for ourselves as an endpoint. We can provide a range, that is
all.
Then, why don't you just mirror from one of the public mirror that
allow anonymous rsync access? For example:
rsync ftp.ibiblio.org::pub/mirrors/eclipse/callisto/
Sure, you have to find a reliable mirror and you will get the
updates a little later. But as long this rsync mirror is updated
frequently enough for your needs, It is probably not a problem for you.
And for the IP, if the connection goes thru a proxy, you can easily
make the IP anonymous (whitin an IP range).
