Hi all,
The Eclipse IDE landing page highlights some of the features of the release. Please see the landing page for the past release -
https://eclipseide.org - for example.
Similar to the previous releases, I would like to gather inputs from the community on features that can be highlighted on the page for 2025-09 release. The content that I have curated so far are :
- Improved Java Development Tooling : Enhanced editor ruler menu to toggle hit-count breakpoints and trigger points directly and Improved custom folding regions allowing the same
comment for start and end of multiple sections.
- Improved Plug-in Development Tooling : Improved JUnit Plugin-test launches with only required dependencies by default, faster startup, and customisable settings; Support for
OSGi Testing with automatic dependency management; and Quick fixes to add missing version information for imported bundles and enforce single active bundle instance.
- Improved Platform : Options for comparing files or selections with clipboard content and organising breakpoints by enabled/disabled status; and a new search feature in WebKit-based
browser widgets with a draggable dialog and an optional disable.
We encourage you to share any additional developments or features that you believe should be highlighted on the landing page for this release, and suggestions on any above items you feel may not be relevant or necessary. We appreciate your
feedback and suggestions.
Thanks and Regards,
Elsa Zacharia
