The list to discuss this on would be the platform-debug-dev list
I will cross post this there for discussion

I strongly suggest you download eclipse eclipse-SDK-3.1M2-win32. That =
works ok with Jdk 1.5.
Don't forget to uninstall JDK former versions.
For my opinion there is bug in Eclipse 3.0.1. While Eclipse 3.0.1 was =
written JDK 1.5 wasn't there yet.
If you don't like to create workspace again, just copy from old install =
to corresponding path in new eclipse install.=20

Good luck,
Asaf

Subject: Spam:[eclipse-dev] Eclipse 3.0.1 and JDK 1.5.0 in Windows XP =
SP1

Hi together,=20

I upgraded my os from W2K to XP yesterday. On Windows 2000 I installed =
Eclipse 3.0 and JDK 1.5 and everything was fine. I could use the new =
features of JDK 1.5.=20

Today I installed Eclipse 3.0.1 and JDK 1.5.0 on my new Windows XP (with =
SP1). I start Eclipse with -vm <PATH_TO_JDK1.5> but in the preferences =
I can't see tab 1.5 (as I saw on my old installation).=20

And - after I imported my old code - Eclipse can't use the new features =
of 1.5 (for example: all of my generics are marked as errors now).=20

Is there a Bug in Eclipse 3.0.1 on Windows XP?

Can anyone help me?

Greetings=20
J=F6rg
