I've heard that when this happens, your local workspace knows about the
new version, and thus it appears to have worked even though the tag is not
actually in the repository.
Not sure if the steps that Michael outlined get fooled by this, or if CVS
has been changed to only remember the tag locally if it succeeded in
propogating the tag to the repository.

I do not think there was anything wrong in my setup as I have used the
same
workspace today to version successfully. I suspect some network glitch,
that should have been detected.

Konrad,
Any idea why the tagging failed? Did you have the projects checked out on
a pserver connection?
Several people have been burned by this. The releng tool needs to check
for this.

I have manually tagged the affected projects. They are ready for a
rebuild.
It appears that releng tool used for tagging projects and updating map
file
failed to recognize that tagging did not succeed for some of the projects
and proceeded with updating the map file yesterday. I have used the
release tool with 20031105 integration build.

It appears that the tag in the map file entry for org.eclipse.help.ui does
not exist. A rebuild will begin as soon as the Help team has updated and
verified their map file entries.
