Jan Shulz is maintaining the eclipse package(s) for Debian and they
build on Debian ppc. These packages will be soon (one or two week(s)?)
in the unstable branch of the Debian distribution.

You can check this page:

When you'll see version is >2.1-4 it'll be OK (it'd be =>2.1-5)

This may be a very good starting point.
