Hello everyone,
Over the past several months, we have been considering the future of the Eclipse Cloud Interest Group and whether there is sufficient member interest and commitment to continue the initiative as an active Eclipse Foundation Industry Collaboration.
As part of this effort, we scheduled the September 2nd meeting to discuss the path forward and determine whether we could re-establish the member leadership, active participation, and regular collaboration needed to sustain the Interest Group.
At this point, we have not seen sufficient member commitment to support the continued operation of Eclipse Cloud. We have therefore decided to begin an orderly wrap-up of the Interest Group, consistent with the path outlined in our Governance and Operation Review attached. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to Eclipse Cloud over the course of the collaboration. We appreciate the time, expertise, and support that members and participants have provided.
The Eclipse Foundation will now take care of the necessary steps to formally conclude the Interest Group and its associated operations.
Although the Eclipse Cloud Interest Group is concluding, members are welcome to propose a new collaboration in the future if clear opportunities and renewed interest arise. Additionally, because this domain remains highly relevant, the Eclipse Foundation intends to establish an Eclipse Cloud Landing Page.
