[ecf-dev] ECF moving forward

Hi Folks,

Earlier today/Tues we had an ECF conference call. The agenda and notes are here [1].

A couple of things coming out of the meeting that I want to highlight.

A) We are going start having bi-weekly conference calls using Google Hangouts, on this schedule:

Every other Tuesday, 1700/5pm GMT, 9am pacific

I will start putting the upcoming agenda and link information on the ECF conference call information section [2].

B) The EclipseCon 2014 submission deadline is coming up (Nov 18), and I/Scott would like to submit a talk on OSGi Remote Services...possibly emphasizing the provider architecture and some of the work that's going on now to support it (e.g. the iPopo [4] and/or MQTT [3] work). *If any of you would like to collaborate with me on an EclipseCon 2014 submission, please contact me at slewis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx right away*. I would very much like collaborators, as I'm not yet sure if I'll even be able to physically attend EclipseCon 2014 :).

C) Please consider joining and contributing to the iPopo [4] and/or the MQTT providers effort. It's becoming clear to me that creating new remote services discovery and distribution providers is going to be a major theme for ECF in the coming year...along with the 'meta' story that ECF's provider architecture enables a number of very useful kinds of integration and interoperability...to the OSGi RS/RSA story.

Thanks,

Scott
