You might also want to checkout the slides we used for the ECF tutorial
at EclipseCon2009. The ppt is in CVS. A pdf version is on our site [1].
Note however, that the slides show how it is done in ECF 3.0.

You don't necessarily need the Properties. The rest however is used to
uniquely identify your service. Thus you will need them.
