[ecf-dev] Fwd: [Fwd: Re: Conference call]

Hi,

We had the issue of calling in from outside the US come up before in a smaller group. Have a look at the email below.

Talk to you later,

Mustafa

Hi All,

Since Skype permits for calls to landlines, not only other Skype clients, I've always called in via their service, using the 866er number. I have a SkypeOut account with money on it, but calls to the 866-toll-free no. have never cost me anything. My balance stayed unchanged during and after the call.

My observation seems to be backed by a number of online reports, two of which you can have a look at here:

http://share.skype.com/sites/en/2005/07/free_calls_to_tollfree_phone_n.html
http://www.skypejournal.com/blog/archives/2005/07/ skypeout_free_f.php

I suggest you download Skype and just try to call the toll-free no. It seems as though you wouldn't even need to have a SkypeOut account.

Hi Marcello, Mustafa, Roland, Remy,

Bad news about toll-free access to conference call.  I'm sorry about that.  I'll try to have future calls in some other manner more international-friendly (chat/skype/others/asterisk).  Don't feel like you need to attend conference calls and pay the long distance toll.

Hello again,

I checked, and it's as I thought. The 866 number is toll-free for North America. Callers outside that area use the 613 number, and they have to pay for the call. Sorry.

Hi Scott,

Would just like to double-check again whether the international number
is toll free or not? If not I could still use my dad's calling card,
but eh, would be nice if I didn't have to, although I don't think he'd
care. ;P

It's my understanding that the toll free number:  866 362 7064 *is* toll free.  I got this from Anne Jacko (EF person), so I'll copy her on this.  Anne if this number is not toll free, please let Remy and I know.  Thanksinadvance.

In IChatRoomContainer, I'm guessing listener removal methods are
missing? Things could get ugly whilst unhooking UIs and such if such
methods are not exposed.

Yeah, this is one of the things that should be added to refactoring (some listener removal methods for a couple of the interfaces).

Thanks for the the below reports...fixed soon (fixed locally and trying to merge with some other things I've been doing upon returning from Europe).
