Re: [ecd-pmc] Compliance of Eclipse Che4z with the Eclipse Development Process (EDP)

Hello Maria and the EMO.

As you may be aware, the Che4z project is logically split into 3 subprojects.  In the previous review, the openness of one of the subprojects was put into question.  This was due to issues that were internal to Broadcom.  At the time, we thought that we could work around them and work in a more open way.  But seeing the lack of interest and involvement from our customers in enhancing this open source project, we have made the decision to close-source this piece of the project.  It was not an easy decision since the company is dedicated to being as open as possible, but it was the best decision in this instance.

As such, we would like to request a new review of this project in the future, after this subproject is no longer associated with Che4z.

Dear Project Team,

I am reaching out regarding the continued non-compliance of the Eclipse Che4z with the Eclipse Development Process (EDP). As you may recall, during last year's progress review, the EMO expressed concerns and provided clear warnings about this very issue. Despite these warnings, it is concerning that no substantial progress has been made to rectify the situation over the past year.

Adhering to the EDP is essential to ensuring that all projects align with the Foundation's governance, standards, and community expectations. The current state of non-compliance cannot be allowed to continue, and the EMO is left with no choice but to consider taking formal action if immediate corrective measures are not taken.

Please share with us how you plan to address these concerns and if there is any assistance we can provide to facilitate your compliance with the EDP.

Kind regards,

Maria Teresa Delgado
