Re: [ease-dev] EASE 0.8.0 release

Hi,

good to hear that people are interested in a new release!

Currently I am doing some code cleanups and subtle changes to the
scripting interface which are a bit delicate. I would like to keep
these changes in a testing phase for some weeks. Afterwards we could do
a 0.8 release. A reasonable timeframe also taking into account the time
needed for all approvals would be SOF June.

While it is normally quite safe to stay with our nightlies, changes to
the API might cause some troubles on your side in case you are using
our API too. In such cases I would recommend to create a local mirror
of our nightly repo and only update on demand. That decouples your
builds from any changes to our nightly repo.
A simple way to do this is to run a jenkins job, fetch the ease repo
and publish the artifacts. Then you can consume the ease mirror
directly from your jenkins.

cheers Christian
