Hudson is maintained by eclipse, we cannot run hudson on Java 1.8 so 
far. This is something that needs to be changed in the eclipse 
infrastructure. But the compiler compliance settings is in our hands. As 
tycho uses the eclipse compiler I do not expect problems when upgrading 
to java 1.8
