Well, I am not sure about gerrit incompatibilities with Luna, but why
don't you use Eclipse Mars.1, which is the latest release of the Eclipse
development IDE? There are great tutorials out there how to use Gerrit,
vogella.com is a good place to start. This environment definitely works.
You may also use any git client you like to checkout the sources and
then manually import it into eclipse.
