| Hi Susan,
Thanks for creating the mockups. It's great to see some alternative looks. Here's my initial reaction.
 1. I like the rounded corners and the general open feeling. I can see how this design would work well for Eclipse apps targeted at the web.
 2. The flip side to this, though, is that the design introduces quite a bit of white space. I'm generally a fan of white space, but this might be too much for an IDE.
 3. The design discards some boundary definition that I find helpful. Particularly in the editor tabs, where the class names all blend together.
These are just some initial reactions, and I'd be curious to hear what others think..

Subject: [e4-dev] a new look for the workbench
 Hi, everyone.
Just before Christmas, I posted some mockups of a new look for the workbench in this bug:

 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=299424

We didn't get a lot of feedback, but of course most folks were probably already on holiday when I posted the mockups, and the bug update could have gotten lost in the shuffle of large post-holiday inboxes.

I invite anyone with comments to comment in the bug. We're at a point where the visual designer will begin iterating on some of the details unless there is feedback indicating that we need to step back....

 thanks,
 susan
