We are using TCF for LTTng, the Linux Trace Toolkit. We contributed the binary transfer for this purpose last summer. We have protocol extensions to list and activate tracing probes. The TCF modules for this purpose are in the LTTV LTTng viewer distribution (see lttng.org). We will gladly collaborate on this! You may have seen slides from Dominique Toupin of Ericsson on this.
