[dsdp-tcf-dev] RE: Submit a talk about TCF for ELC 2010?
|
Hi Anna,
I'm forwarding your question to Felix Burton, who is the
original inventor of TCF and evangelist outside Eclipse.
I'm also forwarding to the dsdp-tcf-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx mailing list.
In the past, we have had some TCF presentations outside the
Eclipse ecosystem (I have been at ECSI for instance, and there
is Power.org). TCF absolutely works UI-less and is designed
to be used outside the Eclipse ecosystem as well. Doing more
Evangelism outside Eclipse seems like a great idea.
Felix, what would you think about submitting a talk for
ELC 2010 early April in San Francisco? Have we talked at
ESC in the past? What does the rest of the TCF community
think?
Cheers,
Martin

Subject: Submit a talk about TCF for ELC 2010?
Hi Martin,
as I told you, I attended ELC Europe in Grenoble last week.
At one of the BoFs the following question appeared: "why don't we have
some standard communication framework for host-target?" When I mentioned
TCF to them, they said, "well, that's Eclipse, we want just command line
without your UI". I always thought that we can use TCF from command line
as well, can't we?
Also I thought that maybe if we could show/tell them what TCF can do, it
could attract more contributions.
For instance, Sony has its own communication framework and they were
unaware of TCF at all...
So, what if someone submits a talk about TCF for ELC 2010? It is going
to be in early April in San Francisco.
Someone local maybe (to make it cheaper)? What do you think?
Thanks!
Anna.
