I think that if we have a descriptive Ganymede Category
("Remote Access and Mobile Devlopment") as well as descriptive project names
("Tools for Mobile Linux") then the ProviderName fits in nicely using our
acronym: "Eclipse.org - DSDP" given
that our homepage is also on http://eclipse.org/dsdp and googling for
"DSDP" does bring us up on 2nd rank (right after the Deep Sea Drilling Project
:)

As
said, I'm committing "Eclipse.org - DSDP" now but I can change
later if desired.

Like the icon. Pull the trigger.

Mauren suggests that we could come up with a more
  descriptive providerName. Thoughts?

  Hi again,

  I
think we need to agree on a common naming for the DSDP icon in our branding
plugins to ensure that our contributions all map to the same icon. Attached is
the proposed icon with its proposed name:
  "dsdp32.png".

  I'm
picking this up now into my branding plugins, along with provider name
  "Eclipse.org - DSDP".

Let's see what it'll look like in Galileo RC1, we can still change it
if we don't like it (personally, I think it's perfect).

I like dsdp32x32-2 (with the larger phone) very much

playing with the modeling PNG file, since I’m not sure we have an AI
file with the modeling about box icon.

          I
messed up the transparency, but do folks generally like this. No DSDP,

          M7.

          I
think it will be better to get rid of the halo / glow, and have the
          Eclipse
          ball
same size as all the others but with the mobile phone / board
          icon
          overlaid.
Perhaps it would work to take the Modeling icon as

            We
squared off the large version and resized to 32x32, but I think the
large orbit is making the globe too small. We’ll fix it this

            Yes,
I was talking about the glow. And yes, my concern
            was
            that
the icon might look too small if the entire glow were
            part
            of
            the reduced size version.

              Martin,
when you say remove the halo, are you talking about the glow
around the planet? (Folks: your image viewer needs to show
transparent as black to see the halo. I’ve put the two side by
side so we can see the difference. Modeling is scaled up, which is
              why it looks pixilated.)

              I
don’t really have a problem with the glow, personally. The width
of the orbit may force the plane to look too small when it’s scale
              down, though.

              If
everyone agrees on #5, Brenda and I can work with that.

              I
              agree with eric:

              Initially
I liked 1 better, but I like it how the orbit intersects with the
              phone in 5.
              It's
surprising how well the icons look even if scaled down to 16x16
              pix.

              It's
high time that we agree on ONE icon for the about dialog, which
              needs to be 32 x 32 pix.
              See
the "ECLIPSE32.PNG" icon attached, which I'm currently using for
              reference, as well as
              modeling32.png
-- I think we should rescale the dsdp icon like modeling, perhaps
              getting rid
              of
              the halo.

              Resulting
icon should be "dsdp32.png" -- I think it's important that we use
              all the same
              icon
name, in order to make sure that our contributions can be
              collapsed on the about
              dialog.

              Deadline

                Hi
                dsdp guys!

                I was
thinking in something like a device as a space ship or a
monolith (Kubrick/Clarke 2001) targeting the Eclipse
                logo.
                The
idea is attached. Maybe it can give you guys more
                ideas.

                Daniel.
