[dsdp-pmc] Galileo Feature Freeze question for MTJ

Hello Doug / PMC

I have 2 questions surrounding the current deadline of Galileo train cycle.

There is 2 major milestones coming up: May 4: "Feature Freeze" and May 18: Release Candidate 1 Build

First:

Assuming that no other component in the Galileo Build depends on MTJ, and - because there is currently a VERY productive and active discussion about finalizing the API for an extension point, my question:

IS it possible to make changes to the code between May 4th and May 18th.

The changes would only introduce a new Extension Point, and not modify an existing, public API. My hope is that the team can finalize the code by May 11th, and still has an entire week of testing before the May 18 RC1 build.

Second:

There is a high probability that Nokia can deliver some code as part of the Pulsar project, which should go into the RC1 build. The expectation is that the code will be contributed by May 11, and then integrated for RC1. The code has no dependencies/interaction with existing MTJ code, and is only a "pretty UI wrapper" for calling existing P2 APIs.

Currently (with the help of Ian) we are trying to get this through the IP review, see: https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3273

What is your point of view on this?
