[dsdp-pmc] RE: DSDP Packaging Project to run for Proposal!

Martin,

I can help with this. I’ve done this several times already. Let’s take this offline and get back to Mike and Bjorn when we’re ready for EMO review.

Thanks Mike!

In fact we just had a phone call, and we decided that we want to shoot for a new project.

Bob Frankel is going to be the proposed project lead, and is going to work on a draft project proposal immediately.

See tentative contents on http://wiki.eclipse.org/DSDP/Packaging

Now I haven't been through this personally before... can you help us through the next steps?

  • We are preparing a draft project proposal on the Wiki, based on some templates we have found
  • Who's the next person to review the draft proposal?
  • When do we need to have the draft proposal ready such that we have a chance to have a "real proposal" go live along with the newsgroup before EclipseCon?

Thanks,

No. The newsgroup gets turned on as soon as the proposal goes live. And the wiki is, well, a wiki J

The only infrastructure piece that takes a while is the mailing list and, of course, CVS/Bugzilla.

Souds great, thanks mike.

Will the *proposal phase* and thus the newsgroup also take 4-6 weeks to get?
