RE: [dsdp-pmc] JavaME for Target Management?
|
Look good for me.
We will discuss about this in MTJ
projects.
mho
I would like to see this agent
running on CDC/Foundation 1.0 devices as well.

Subject
| [dsdp-pmc] JavaME for Target
Management? |
|
Hi Mika,
You might know that the Target Management Project's RSE
provides
a Java-based remote agent that allows to
* browse and
search a remote file system
* download, upload
* perform
remote archive operations on ZIP and TAR files
* provide a remote
shell
* optionally, provide remote process list and kill
operations
Currently, this agent requires Java 1.4.
I was wondering
whether you'd see any value in downstripping this
agent to run on a JavaME
platform like CDC/Foundation 1.1.
This might not be too hard since
earlier versions of the agent used
to run on Java1.3 - and it might enable
the agent to run on devices
like Java-enabled cell phones.
Also, do
you have any hints what would be the best approach
if I chose to try and
downstrip the code?
Thanks,
Martin
