Mika, You need to provide some public justification for why the Committers should trust Rauno. I realize that he's not going to write code, but he still needs to be accepted as legitimate by the Committers. Additionally, the public nomination/justification needs to be complete enough so that someone outside the DSDP team can understand why you are nominating this person. Consider the situation where a new person X, from a new company Y, thinks "I'd like to join DSDP, I wonder what they are like in that group" and goes reading through the mail archives to see who gets elected as a committer and why. If person X just see "I nominate Bob" and everyone votes "Yes, +1 on Bob", then there is very little data for person X (or his boss at company Y) to decide whether DSDP is a good group to join. Whereas if person X can read a couple paragraphs about each nominee and thus understand what it takes to qualify for the in-crowd at DSDP, he (and his boss) are much more likely to join. - Bjorn Mike Milinkovich wrote:
