Subject: [dsdp-mtj-dev] MTJ 0.9 updated
plan

Hi
MTJer's,
I just
updated MTJ 0.9 plan with the scope and dates of our first release (we discussed
and approve it on our last conf call). The plan is on the standard eclipse
format is available on the URL http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?projectid=dsdp.mtj (1.0 plan is on CVS,
since right now the eclipse doesn't support multiple releases version on project
plan php).
We already
closed a first milestone and tests were executed on it. There are a several bugs
opened and we plan to address the ones that are more important (i will send a
separated email about that)
Below is
summary of what is there:
MTJ 0.9
Scope:
- EclipseME 1.7.9
code base,
- All UEI SDKs are
supported,
- MPowerplayer SDK is
supported,
- MicroEmu 2.0.3 SDK
is supported,
- Import EclipseME
Projects,
- Import Netbeans
Projects,
- Preprocessor of
JavaME code integrated on the build environment
- Improvements on the
Application descriptor UI
- MTJ Perspective
make it easy to access all MTJ related functionalities,
- Enhanced run/debug
options,
- Automatically SDK
Javadoc discovery,
- Support external
preverifier on MIDP SDKs that does not provide a preverifier,
- Configure JAR/JAD
file names in create package,
- Multiple hosts
support (win32, linux and macosx)
From that
list the only features that we are still working are, but we plan to close them
until the end of this week:
- import
netbeans
- Improvements on the
Application descriptor UI
- preprocessor
If there are
any other features that someone is working on and want it to be included, please
let me know and we can discuss about adding it to the plan (i might also have
missed some patch). Also if you want to highlight some other specific feature
that you think is important, pelase let me know that we can update the
plan.
Dates:
Aug/01/2008
- integration build (done)
Aug/29/2008 - M1
(feature & api freeze)
Sep/12/2008 - RC1
(major bugs fix)
Sep/30/2008 - RC2
(only documentation updated and major bugs that are approved by all
committers)
The only
reason that might cause us to miss the M1 date is the preprocessing support, but
we are working to make sure that we can make it :)
Thanks for
everyone that is working on this effort.
Please feel
free to send comments and suggestions. We really want to make sure that we are
on the right direction with release.
:)
